Did Someone Say Bubble Skirt?

Saturday, February 06, 2010

I promised a bubble skirt and here it is -hot pink with orange lining.

The pattern is from "Making Kids Clothes" (again), the fabric is from Fabric and Pretty Things (The Trelise Cooper Fabric store, again). Embroidery Anglais is now my friend, and I want one in my size. Yet another piece in Rebekah's Putting Idea Books to Use.

  4. I am glad you have had success with Trelise fabrics. The year before she opened her fabric outlet store I went to her sale. Everything was so beautiful - the eyes glazed, I spend over two hundred dollars - not one, no not one of those pieces of fabric has ever been successfully made up - I think she must be a "spring" because it's all shrimp and apricot tones - even the blues are warm aquas. I have given it all away to the op shop and two half hearted attempts landed in the bin.

I chalked it up to experience - there's no point buying stuff, no matter how beautiful, that you will never enjoy wearing.

    Lesson learned.

  5. so so cute! The eyelet fabric is adorable and the pink and orange look fabulous together

  6. What a gorgeous skirt (and yes I am a civil engineer!).
