Restocking the Present Shelf

Monday, July 22, 2013

I'm going homemade. Birthday season is upon us.  Rather than purchasing yet another last minute gift, I'm restocking the present shelf. I'm starting with zipped pouches, filled with age appropriate goodies.

Does every house have a hidden repository of presents?  Ours was working just fine until the kids discovered where it was.  It was probably not a good idea to keep it in their favourite hide and seek place - our wardrobe.  On the other hand, I remember finding the present stash when I was little and spending much time admiring the things in there.

My dearest is not sure what you could do with multiple zipped pouches, so I am on the look out for other ideas for the present shelf.  Any ideas?

  1. I'm with you on the pouches... the other pattern I use a lot is the boxy pouch one from three bears. I make it in a slightly bigger size and often out of scraps of vinyl, leather and macro suede - brilliant for boys. I've made them with nylon linings so they can be shaving bags or toilet bags for my brothers and hubbie has a very cool looking leather one to hold his GPS and all it's bits. If you have a lot of time and scraps, the pencil wrap from Joelle Hoverson's patchwork gifts book is another good one.

  2. Hello
I am in love with snap happy purses. They are great because you can make them any size. I have made a couple for IPad covers. You can find a tut here:
