Learning to Whistle
Wednesday, October 16, 2013
Adventures are just waiting to happen. There is a small patch of native forest on the edge of the park and a winding path through it. Granddad Bob took the opportunity to show the girls how to make whistles out of grass blades. There was much huffing and puffing, giggling and general light-headedness. The perfect end to an afternoon at the park.

Whistling a blade of grass?!! I must investigate this!
ReplyDeleteAwesome! I never quite mastered the gum-leaf whistle, which I always thought sounded more trumpet like, and which my mum instructed me in as a girl.
ReplyDeleteTruth be told, I couldn't master it either. I managed a fluke, enough to impress the kids and them just puffed away.
ReplyDeleteYour comments make my day. I would love to hear from you.
